July 18th…from 1990 until today, thirty-three years.
I started working at Emery Hughes Corporation 33 years ago today. Emery Hughes took a chance on hiring a twenty-four year old inexperienced college graduate and I was a fit. The Hughes family has become family to me. I like to say that I am on my fourth generation of Hughes, but if you count Papa Hughes, it’s five!
There have been many changes in 33 years. The seed industry has had major direction changes, as has the car industry.
We hang in there. My heritage in family, marriage, church, and jobs is longevity. You don’t give up when the going gets tough. You stay loyal to bonds formed. My word for this is stick-to-it-ive-ness. Just a coined phrase from Aunt Puh.
Love the ones who God has put into your life.
Beginning year 34 tomorrow…
